A male, spotted off the side of the highway, close to the sewage ponds This dove was one of the first birds I saw in Trinidad, on a wire just outside my cabin at the lodge. The delightful experience of watching the ibis fly to their roost, in the Caroni Swamp.

These orioles are common, but were hard to approach. This one was spotted in a very productive bush near the sewage ponds, along with spinetails, waxbills, antshrikes, kiskadees, and others This blackbird closely resembles the yellow-headed blackbird of North America, but females look different. The male is shown here. A mockingbird, hanging out near the herb garden near the centre.
